Stop dog urine from killing your grass

Stop dog urine from killing your grass

We all love keeping our lawns looking fresh and green all year round. Have you ever noticed any brown patches across your lawn and wondered what could be causing this?

One of the answers can be dog urine. Find out how to fix this problem.

Dog urine contains a lot of nitrogen, which can be beneficial for our lawns as it is an important nutrient and acts as a natural fertiliser, but too much can burn and destroy the grass, leaving small yellow or brown patches. Many assume that the problem lies with the urine's pH, and refer to 'acidic' urine causing the problem. But this is incorrect; the culprit is the nitrogen, not the pH. So what can we do to get your lawn back to it’s greener stage?

One pack of Dog Rocks in your dog’s water bowl will keep your lawn lush and free from urine burn patches for up to 2 months. Dog Rocks does not alter the pH of your dog’s urine, it works by removing the excess of nitrates found in drinking water, making them 100% safe for dogs. They act by filtering out impurities in water, such as tin, ammonia and nitrates, so you will end up providing your dog with a cleaner source of water.

Dog Rocks are completely natural so they are safe for cats and other pets and can be used in conjunction with pet fountains.

 Recommended for best results:

- Replace the Dog Rocks every 2 months as they act like a sponge/filter; once they reach their saturation point, after this period, they are no longer able to absorb any further impurities. (a diary sticker is included to assist you with scheduling).
- Ensure your dog’s water bowl is your dog’s main water source as drinking from other bowls will hinder the results.
- Top up rather than replace the water every day. When replacing the water, do so when the dog is least likely to consume large amounts, say at night before bed. Sadly, Dog Rocks cannot bring already damaged areas back to life. However, with proper care, you will begin to see a noticeable difference in the appearance of your lawn in 4-5 weeks.
- Dog’s with extremely high protein diets or that consume high protein treats on a daily basis may not get the full benefit of Dog Rocks.
- One pack of Dog Rocks is good in a dog’s water bowl for 2 months.
