Petstop's WEEE Directive

WEEE (WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT) WEEE DIRECTIVE, WASTE MANAGEMENT (WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT) WEEE REGULATIONS (S.I. 149 OF 2014) PLUS THE EUROPEAN UNION (BATTERIES AND ACCUMULATORS) REGULATIONS 2014 (S.I. NO. 283 OF 2014), AS AMENDED.

What is "Free product takeback"?

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one for one, like for like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. There is a bin for small batteries in all of our Petstop stores.

Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at their recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Please make sure you recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.

How do I organise free takeback of my item for an online order?

As your electrical appliance will be delivered to you by our courier, we can arrange to recycle your old electrical appliance free of charge. You may take your old appliance back to any of our stores (please bring proof of purchase) or contact us on 01-6875016 to arrange a collection or bring back to your local Civic Amenity Centre.

How do I recycle my item at a local civic amenity?

Each local civic amenity must accept household WEEE and waste batteries free of charge from members of the public. Please contact your local authority for details of your local civic amenity. Local authorities cannot charge gate fees for WEEE or waste batteries.
