As an employer of over 200 employees, Petstop is legally required to publish an annual Gender Pay Gap Report starting in 2024. This report will be reviewed by Senior Management to identify and address any gender disparities within the organisation and to guide future operational decisions.
The Gender Pay Gap Report aims to foster an internal dialogue about gender
representation in the workplace and to identify areas where intervention may be
necessary. It is important to note that the gender pay gap reflects the difference in the average hourly earnings of men and women across the company, rather than indicating unequal pay for the same work. The results are influenced by the distribution of genders across various levels and roles within our business and will help us focus on creating a more balanced workplace in the future.
Our Organisation’s Gender Pay Gap Report
Pay Quartiles
We are required to rank all employees from lowest to highest hourly pay and split our workforce into four equal groups. We then show the proportion of male and female colleagues within each of the four pay quartiles.
Mean and Median Hourly Pay Gap
The Mean Pay Gap is the difference between the average hourly rate of pay for women, compared to the average hourly rate of pay for men in an organisation. This provides a percentage that reflects the overall pay disparity based on average earnings.
The Median Pay Gap compares the midpoint of hourly pay rates for men and women. It identifies the hourly rate for the woman in the exact middle if all female employees were lined up from the lowest to the highest hourly rate and compares it to the hourly rate for the man in the middle of the same lineup for male employees. This measure highlights the difference in pay at the central point of the pay distribution for each gender. The results for Petstop’s Mean and Median Hourly pay gap and Bonus pay gap are as follows:

Report Findings and Actions
Our gender pay gap analysis for 2024 highlights several encouraging aspects while identifying areas for continued improvement. Notably, 50% of our management team is comprised of women, reflecting a strong foundation of gender representation in leadership roles and our focus on internal promotion.
Our hourly pay gap currently stands at 5% in favour of men, which underscores our ongoing work to address gender disparities across all levels of the organisation. Additionally, our bonus scheme demonstrates positive engagement with women, as a higher proportion of women (66%) received bonus payments compared to their male counterparts.
We are dedicated in our commitment to promoting gender equality across recruitment, career progression, and professional development. As part of this dedication, Petstop will continue to actively monitor and refine our recruitment and promotion policies to ensure fairness to all and eliminate any potential bias.
Our goal remains to provide rewarding, long-term careers where every individual,
regardless of gender, has the opportunity to maximize their skills, grow within their roles, and thrive as part of our team. We are proud of the progress made and remain focused on creating an inclusive workplace that supports and celebrates the success of all employees.
